Surround Sound

I would like to run my first test of Surround Sound using a very short clip on a MacPro and FCP 7.

The "production" could not be easier. Someone talking in the front L & R channels and some music which I would like to "move" from the L & R from channels, to the rear channels. This should let me get acquainted with Surround Sound.

If I use "Share" to send the short clip to my Blu Ray burner, is there any specific setting I should place in Compressor?

What about the Sound tool that comes with FCP 7?

Thanks for the info.

FCP has no surround panning. It is possible to take a final mix in 5.1 and assign the output channels discreetly.

You need Sound Track Pro which is an entry level audio tool to do surround. In your example, the dialog would come from the center speaker, not L&R. FCP can't pan from front L&R to Surround L&R. Also FCP is frame based editing which is not fine enough for audio.
