Is there a "bad tape splice" film transition in existence? For FCP or anything else?

You know, when you are watching some super-8 (yes, real film) that's been spliced with tape you get a quick little jitter with maybe a couple of frames projected in between the actual frames so you get the top of one and bottom of another.

None that I know of. Personally, I'd make my own in After Effects. It would take all of 5 minutes.

Ditto that. I've made a few over the years. Use position, and crop, a little ragged edge, or make a matte in photoshop. You can add a little randomness to make them feel more organic, and a little jump cut to simulate the lost frames.
