FCP Video Output
on Nov 16, 2010 at 2:52:34 pm

I have FCS 3 and my system is a Mac Pro late 2006. I would like to use my 52" Samsung LCD for the viewing output from FCP. I can connect it using a DVI to HDMI connector from the second video port on my card to my TV via HDMI. I get output as if it is a second monitor in OSX, but when I use FCP and try and output it doesnt display moving video, on the still shot when it is paused. Is this video card related or are my settings incorrect in FCP? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you all.

You need an I/O card/device. I use MATROX MXO2.

Sounds good. Too rich for my blood right now. I need lesser options. Thanks!

Probably a matter of DHCP compliance.

Keep your eyes open for a used BlackMagic HD Extreme board. I found one for < $200 on eBay and it works great!

You should get a moving image this way through the cinema desktop preview in Final Cut Pro.
External Video set to ON?

What kind of timeline? What footage? What framerate? What Codec?

Blackmagic Intensity is one of the cheapest options that will give you HDMI out (and in AFAIK) to drive your screen...

Video playback set to cinema desktop?
View-external video set to ALL Frames?
Should work. A better solution would be a Intensity Pro card.
