Quicktime Pro and FCP version 5
on Nov 12, 2010 at 4:52:50 pm

Newbie question, but I could find no previous inquires. I am running FC Studio 5.1 with OSX Leopard.
I Need to convert my FC program to a .avi format to deliver to my client on DVD. I Have tried to do the simple quicktime conversion export to .avi but get a severely pixelated result. I was told that Quicktime Pro has a better .avi transcoding feature but am worried about downloading Quicktime Pro. Will this newer version of quicktime have any adverse effects on my older FC 5.1 program - or with it be fine? Thanks in advance ..... I plan to update to FCP 7 soon but need to get a decent .avi file of this program done now.
John

If you have FCP 5.1, then you have QT Pro. FCP turns QT into QT Pro when you install it...unlocking a lot of features.

Thanks .... Sorry for the late reply - I was in the weeds, appreciate your quick response. I found out what I was doing wrong with the compression. Thanks again - John
