Video Export Options Green Boxes
on Oct 22, 2010 at 1:06:09 am

Ok im using an HD PVR to record gameplay from my xbox.
I use EYETV to record and export as H.264 (native format)
Then I use Final Cut to Edit.
In final cut after render it shows GREEN boxes at frames.
How do I remove this?

[Jack Keshishian] " export as H.264 (native format) Then I use Final Cut to Edit."

h.264 id not a editing codec. You need to convert the video to a proper editing codec before bringing it into FCP.

I know. I REALLY wish the Cow woulds make it so that when you clicked on add new post before it even took you to a page to post your question it took you to a page that said "Have you searched the Cow forums yet?" and then when you click yes it takes you to another page that askes "Are you attempting to edit h.264 video files? If yes search the forum and find out why you should not do that"

Then be sure to send a thank you note to Apple.

What's the Best-Codec-Ever-Devised-By-Man in AppleLand's current crop of consumer devices? H.264.
I'd imagine there are many folks who finally get Final Cut Suite to compliment their Handicams and MacBooks, and who now think think they've got the world. Hey, they've now got the best Apple can offer, right?

Naturally, they're a little stunned to learn that people who use FCP for a living fart in the general direction of AppleLand's current Best-Codec-Ever-Devised-By-Man.

I lay this mess right on Apple's doorstep. They ain't doing serious FCP practitioners any favors, nor are they doing right by consumers by letting them believe that acquiring FCP is just a big -- and easy -- step up from iCrap, when in truth it's a totally different world.
