color correcting psd files in FCP 6 for broadcast specs
on Oct 14, 2010 at 3:17:10 pm

Please help! I created a series of single layer graphics in Final Cut Pro 6 and found out that they all have excess luma in my Final cut project. The 3-way color corrector allows me to bring down the white levels, but after I render and put them in a sequence, the corrections disappear. Does anybody have any ideas for lowering luminous on psd files in final cut to meet broadcast specs?

The FCP project is DVCPRO HD 720 60P and the psd files were created at 1280 X 720 at 72dpi

Thanks in advance for your suggestion! I'm on a tight deadline.

Export them from the timeline as QT movies...self contained, using the sequence settings. Reimport them...color correct those. Now they are VIDEO files that will retain the color correction.
