I am currently editing video files that were shot on a Panasonic HVX100 in DVCPRO HD on differing frame rates, some were 24p off a FS100 Firestore (which are being read in FCP as 59.94 fps), others were directly onto a P2 card in 24pn (being read as 23.98 fps).
The timeline settings are currently in 23.98 fps on DVCPRO HD 720p60.
Now, I am submitting this video to iTunes for an artist to use as part of their deluxe edition, and the specs they gave me were:
codec: Apple ProRes 422
frame rate: 29.97
audio: Linear PCM 48khz
I submitted the video but they rejected it with the following message:
Mixed cadence throughout - We suggest sending a new source for this video, since it appears to have been converted from 23.98 to 29.97
I am fairly new to the world of frame rates, pulldowns, etc. And I am not quite sure what iTunes is asking me to do. I've tried googling "converting 23.98 to 29.97" but it doesn't seem that simple.
Can someone please lead me through a step-by-step process so that I can get a final product that iTunes will approve?
