rendering issues from national feeds
on Sep 25, 2010 at 12:22:42 pm

Hi, newbie here. I'm seeking help/information that might enhance my editing on Avid Final Cut Pro 9. The problem is there is now an extra render step with HD and/or SD video sent by news producers via CNN or Newspath. In detail, a red line will appear above the video on the timeline and will turn blue only and after I do a manual render before exporting to the local network server. This step seems so unnecessary and might cause problems down the line when dealing with deadlines. Is this a problem that will go somehow go away? Is a render setting off? Other suggestions?? Thanks :/

More info needed... What precisely is the codec of the clips and what precisely are timeline settings you're using?

[R. Elaine Walker] "editing on Avid Final Cut Pro 9"

What? Avid and Final Cut Pro are separate applications, and neither one goes up to version 9. Well, Avid did, but Avid v9, before they started the numbers over, happened in 1998 or 1999. Current versions are Avid Media Composer 5...Final Cut Pro 7. And again, they are separate apps.
