Original TC of HD files
on Sep 23, 2010 at 4:37:28 pm

Hello, I'm editing a film for theater. The project was shot on differnt cameras and HD formats such as HVX-200, Mark II 5D and 7D, Nikon D90, Z7 and others. Now, i'm just doing the offline edition, so I'm importing files on less quality (not HQ). The main problem is that there are some files i can't import the timecode such as D90 and Z7 camera's files. Anyone knows if there is some way for do it?

STILL cameras...DSLRs. You are finding the weakness of them. They aren't professional level VIDEO cameras...they don't have things such as TIMECODE. Canon figured out a cheat by making the EOS Log and Transfer plugin read the TIME OF DAY information on a file that is made at the same time you record...and it uses that as timecode. Doing the offline/online with DSLRs is an interesting problem...
