FCP to Nuendo: OMF problem
on Sep 14, 2010 at 8:25:31 pm

We have exported an OMF file from FCP 6.0.4 and imported it into Nuendo 5, but we are encountering an issue with our FCP keyframes.

It seems that, in FCP, when we keyframe an audio clip down to minus infinity before the end of the clip, Nuendo, instead of keeping that clip at minus infinity, recognizes the fade down, but then immediately resets the dB back up to 0, leaving us with some unwanted audio.

We could go through the entire movie and cut the audio clips at the keyframe, but many of the audio keyframes are set between two actual frames, making it impossible to cut exactly on the keyframe.

Is there a solution on the outgoing FCP side to make the OMF recognize these keyframes in Nuendo 5?

FCP has limited parameters to set. I import into Fairlight from FCP without any problems, but I don't want any audio keyframes so I don't know if it is a Nuendo issue.

Audio editors edit sub frame so there should be no problem cutting off a clips excess between keyframes.
