listening to footage at a faster rate
on Aug 17, 2010 at 4:31:53 am

I have about 12 hours of interviews that I did for a law firm. Most of it is fine, but the lawyers want me to cut out anything that might offend the family and burn a copy for the family. This means listening to all 12 hours to cut out any questions that might be sensitive to family members. Just so I don't have to listen at the normal speed, I was wondering if there was a way to speed up the audio so i could listen and get done with this so much faster.
thanks
jared

Press "L" twice. That makes it play back double speed.

Don't forget to hit Shift + S so you can hear the audio while you scrub at high speed.

Another thing you can do is get a Contour shuttle/jog knob. For this type of screening it's pretty handy. The Express version is only about 50 bucks, so it's not going to break the bank.

thanks for the help guys... what i ended up doing was just picking a clip and going to "modify" and changing the speed to about 140 to listen to it... but i have done something wrong i guess because now some of the clips won't let me change them back to 100... under modify the word "speed" is greyed out and i cannot adjust it... any thoughts on what I've done?
the LL made it too fast... but thanks shane
