Quick Question: Audio preview lost in viewer when FF/RW
on Jul 23, 2010 at 7:20:13 pm

Hey Cows,

Does anyone know why the audio when FFing or RWing x2 or more will randomly go out when watching a clip on the viewer? Is it random or am I just accidentally pressing keys that are turning it off?

Thanks!

Thanks,

Using the wrong kind of video codec might do it. I'm thinking about mp4/H.264 here. They're not proper editing codecs for FCP, and need to be changed to ProRes 422.

If it is not the Codec as Dave mentions that is giving you the problem, accidentally pressing Shift S will turn Scrubbing off also. It is located in the View Menu.

Thanks for both of your replies!

Shift-S solved it! Thanks a bunch for answering my noob question!

And thanks Dave for the info on the codecs. That's definitely going to help prevent some future problem from happening. KUDOS and SOLUTION!

Thanks,
