How to speed up my workflow and rendering the Final Cut Pro... Matrox..?!
on May 24, 2010 at 9:28:10 pm

Hello people. I'm looking to speed up my work in Final Cut. To view the videos in the timeline in real time when I apply various effects.

And also want to accelerate my renderings, Since it has affected my productivity enormously.

I recommended a matrox... But I wonder what, And it will really help me.

Thanks.

I have a:
MAC Pro
February 2 processor.26 GHZ quad-core intel xeon
6 gb memory
Vga gforce 120 gt , 512
4.6TB HD

You should have real time effects ability with most Macs. Just go to the RT pop up menu and go to Unlimited RT > Dynamic > Dynamic. Most approved codecs will offer real time effects. If not, what is the codec you are using.

To get faster rendering, no Matrox box will do that. You need a Mac with faster processors. More RAM and faster drives helps too, but nothing like a new Mac.

Thanks for the tips. But I'm using RT mode on FCP. Mostly I work with HD Videos 1920x1080 from (SONY EX3). But when I use some filters... the video project get slow... and I have to render most parts to see in realtime.

If the Matrox doesn't help, if there some way I could have better workflow and rendering...????

Just to add...

No hardware capture device speeds things up. Matrox, AJA, BlackMagic Dedign, MOTU. Most will take the scaling of anamorphic footage off the shoulders of the CPUs, and that adds a little more RT. But nothing makes it fully RT.

For fully rt no rendering look at Adobe CS5 or Vegas.
