Aiff into timeline issue
on May 24, 2010 at 3:49:20 pm

OK, I took some AIFF files off of a cd, copied them to the computer, copied them to my project folder, and imported them into Final Cut. I then tried pulling the portion of the song I wanted to use into the timeline and it won't let me.

Has anyone else had this problem? I am a newbie on Final Cut, switching over from Premiere Pro on PC to Final Cut on a Mac.

Let me know what you guys think.

CD audio is 44.1k ur project is probably 48k, Normally this won't stop u from importing/playing, just creates the need for rendering.

Launch, soundtrack pro, bring in audio tracks and one by one export them to

a new file; 48k, 16bit, stereo

and then bring those into FCP.
Should cure the problem.

You should use Quicktime rather than iTunes to export the audio to aiff files, 48kHz, 16-bit.
