Reducing Acne in Post?
on May 8, 2010 at 11:38:53 am

I did an interview with someone and they have pretty bad acne (Caucasian teen). Any tips on some adjustments or color correction things I could do to reduce it or look less distracting? Obviously I'm not thinking I can take it away, just somehow lessen it. Thanks

He has one for pimples?! Cool. I'll bet it works.

...and just to totally confuse you, Digital Anarchy just came out with a complexion-fixing plugin, too...

Beauty Box takes 10 times the render time as the Sheffield Softworks one. Fine if you have one or two shots, but if you have a lot...that can mean hours, or days, of render time.

You could play with taking some of the red out of the image with the color corrector. There is also the old beauty stand-by of duplicating the clip above itself, adding blur to the top layer and then playing with the opacity. Done judiciously, it can really help.

Jason, great quick and easy way. May I suggest changing the composite mode to "soft light" (top layer) with gaussian blur set to around 10 before changing opacity.
