FCP assistance files
on May 4, 2010 at 11:45:43 am

Sorry I'm not allowed to use the word 'help' in the subject pane!

I've been meaning to ask this for a long time now.

Suddenly my cltV wont add an edit! Obviously something I'm doing wrong so I go to FCP help and try and search the string 'add edit'

How do you search a string in Apple Preview? Encasing in varoius quotes doesn't seem to work.

Please help. I wish I knew more about my Mac!

What the heck is a citV?

And when you refer to "Apple Preview," are you asking about the FCP online manual?

ctlV = Control V - add edit. I've sorted that now thanks David, my bad!

Yes it's searching a string containg a space that I've never been able to achieve using Apple Preview with the FCS help files. Searching on 'add' and 'edit' leads to enourmous lists.

I do realise I'm a total burke here.

Once again thanks for your patience.

Alan

The Add Edit function (Control-V) is controlled by the autoselect buttons immediately to the left of the tracks. If the autoselect buttons are off, Control-V won't work. This allows you to select clips on specific tracks that you want to split.

All the best,

Tom

Thanks Guys.

Yes it was those pesky autoselect buttons: They still leave me very confused.

As I am still about searching FCPs or any other helps files. Which is really the reason for the post. I realize it's not specfically an FCP issue but not being a Machead it's only the FCP, Motion and Shake forums I visit.
