Brightness/Contrast issue
on Apr 17, 2010 at 3:32:59 am

when I add the brightness/contrast filter to my footage and adjust it- the picture looks normal, until I render, in which case I get flickering multi-colored frames. I'm editing prores422HQ footage at 23.98fps. The timeline is set to the correct setting, and I've tried different render settings with no luck. This is driving me absolutely crazy... any help would be appreciated...

Try the 3 way CC. It lets you adjust gamma and white & black levels plus color balance.

The older filters in FCP may be buggy. I have never used that filter, prefering more control with the 3 Way CC

Many of the FC filters still work in 8b RGB.
The 3w-CC works in 10b YUV.
