mixed sources/large screen-best codec?
on Apr 9, 2010 at 2:32:19 pm

I've often mixed source codecs in the past, but a current project will be projected onto a large screen and I want to be sure I create the highest quality image possible.

I have footage I've shot in DVCPro 720 PN/24 as well as footage in ProRes 4221440 X 1080. What's the best way for me to mix the two if I want a 24 fps look and best image quality?

Thanks,

GW

It is EXTREMELY difficult to go wrong with ProRes. If it was my project, I'd go with the most widely-used resolution in your footage. If you have more 720, go 720.

And of course, a 23.98 timeline is a must. So is removing any pulldown in the 1080 footage.
