Can I quickly move clips into sync based on Aux timecode?
on Apr 3, 2010 at 4:28:40 pm

Hi all,

Cutting a music video and the frame size is weird (1280x549) so FCP doesn't want to let me have Multiclip playback so I'm having to go another route.

I've added Aux 1 TC to all my video clips that matches the audio track TC.

The audio is already laid into the timeline. When dropping video in, is there a quick way to get it to slip edit so the Aux TC of the video clip matches the Aux TC of the audio clip?

There's the "move into sync" option but that only appears if I first line up the clips, link them, and move them out of sync. Not so useful...

I can obviously move everything by hand because I've got all all the timecode overlays to help me, but if there was some secret trick I could save a bunch of time!

Thanks in advance,

Ed

use the "merge clip" function.

one of the options is to sync by aux timecode.

If I do that though, I have to do it for every single clip one at a time and I end up with loads of new master clips in the browser. Is there no trick of doing it in the timeline for clips that are already edited?
