Log and Transfer cutting off clips.
on Mar 30, 2010 at 2:29:04 am

I recorded a horse show this weekend using an HPX 500 Panasonic P2 camera. Footage looks good, but when I go to log and transfer; I transfer the footage and the clips in my bin are cut off by like 15 seconds.

When I view the clips in the Log and Transfer window the clips are there in full, but as soon as I transfer them to a bin it's cut off.

Is there a way I can extend the time code so it will import longer? I'm kind of confused here as to why this is happening. The footage was shot in 720p/30f

Thanks

SH

Do you have a full circle or half circle in your log and transfer window?

It has a full circle indicating it has transfered the entire clip.

I've encountered this in FCP 6.0.5 with Red clips in L & T. So I normally use Redrushes or Clipfinder for Red. But for P2 or AVCHD I guess L &T is the only means to get your rushes into FCP.

Check your log and transfer preferences.

So I figured out the fix, but not exactly sure WHY it's happening. It seems like the time code is off on the clips.

Either way, all I did was set the MARK IN to the point in the video that cuts out and then the out at the end. This somehow imports the 30 seconds or so that I need.

Small heart attack over this one, but never fear I guess.
