FCP 7.0.1 Multiclip editing with 4 sources?
on Mar 21, 2010 at 3:49:37 am

We just installed FCP 7.0.1 and Kona3 7.1 and have set up a 4 camera multi cam edit. When the 4 sources are viewed in the viewer there is an almost 2 second delay to the program monitor. However when only 3 of the sources are created in multicam the monitor timing is perfect. Has anyone ran into this problem and does anyone have a fix? Thank you.

What hard drive is this footage stored on? And what codec is the footage? Important details...

Connected via fiber? Gig Ethernet? Is it rated fro video?

Have you run a drive test on it (the AJA one or Decklink one) to see what read-write speeds it gets?

Shane
We are fiber connected. FYI last week using G5's and FCP 6.0.2 it worked perfectly. I just created a multiclip using 4 streams of SD [DVCPro SD 525] and it worked perfectly.

We found the RT settings were in Dynamic which seems to have caused the problems. We changed settings to Unlimited RT with Playback VideoQuality = High and Playback Frame Rates = Full fixed the problems. Just the opposite of the settings for FCP 6.x. Thanks for your help Shane!
