ATI Radeon 4870 - Flashed?!
on Feb 25, 2010 at 6:27:17 pm

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if anyone has had success using the XFX ATI Radeon 4870 flashed with a Mac ROM?? saw this on XL8 your mac..

Would the 1GB size jump from the 512MB Apple Upgrade option make that much of a difference too? (Price wise... i like the XFX 1GB option a lot better and the fact that its Dual DVI and not that mini-displayport)

I bought the 1Gb version of the 4870 new but already flashed by the seller.

Installed in my MacPro 2.8 8 core about a month ago, it's running faultlessly with dramatic improvements to the performance of Motion.

Works great for me. Try this flashing tool

the ROM files are on the same page. I've seen one report of success with the 4890.

moving parts are so last year

I have a Mac Pro March '09 with the Radeon HD 4870. What would this do for me?
