Centering Portion of a Video

Howdy,

Does anyone know if/how there's a way to center a portion of a video in the canvas? For example, if the original video has planet Earth off center and you want it precisely center, is there some snapping or grid or alignment tool to help with making this exact?

In Photoshop this is the grid view or snapping tool, etc., but I've never had to do this in Final Cut really and have no clue how.

No snapping grids. But in Motion there is. I use the X, Y coordinates. There is also a plug-in from Digital Heaven that will add guides, but I don't think they snap. Perhaps in a future version of FCP? It's a long standing feature request.

Make sure that the new x and y values have no decimals.
Also, if you are working with interlaced material, make sure that the value of "y" is an even number. NEVER ODD value or you may incurs in interlacing issues/
