I've got a bit of a big problem. I work in an advertising studio and most of the hardware used over here is PC Avid Composer based. I on the other hand prefer to work with OsX and Final Cut Pro. The thing is, ever since upgrading to snow, every single .mov file or image sequence generated on the company's pcs (keeping in mind that we work with progressive field dominance 29.97) when imported to my mac comes with that fine tooth comb effect. I've tried setting FCPs sequences to interlaced in these occasions but all that does is make the problem less visible. What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to correct the problem? How come this happens even on the quicktime player. The only way I found to eliminate the problem completely is to use the de-interlace filter, but then not only do I lose quality, but I get a flicker on objects that have horizontal lines.
