New video with Final Cut Pro- Tips Please!
on Dec 30, 2009 at 3:32:46 am

I am pretty new to using Final Cut Pro, about a year and a half in teaching myself. I have been having a blast with motion 7 but taking quite a while to learn. Here is my latest video for a viral freelance project, what do you think?

I think one boy watched waaaaaay too many "look at me" videos on YouTube and learned all the "tricks" but learned none of the language.

Message please?

Wow. Just add some Comic Sans and this would be complete.

What do you mean by none of the language? I'm just learning FCP and Motion, well teaching myself...So I figured why not practice and make a little money,I am in my art studio all day painting and no better way to practice than using myself. Not really a message in the video, just a creative ramble in visual form...

Like a painting, movies tell a story. Film has its own language with broad brush strokes and pointillist precision. Read up on some books about the language of film. You can start with this article: http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/language_of_film.html

Learning to push buttons is cool and all, but try to get beyond that. Kill us with finesse.

I think you should have posted this in the 'Art of the Edit' forum.
