FCP 7 New Install Not Recoginizing G5 and Seeing it as G4

OKAY... I know I have a G5. I have just installed FCP Studio 3. Everything launches except FCP and it is telling me that it won't run on a G4 and I have a G5. Do I need to do a reinstall? I've never had this happen!!!
Thanks for your adivce!
Jean

FCP 7 will not run on a G5. It requires an Intel Mac Pro.

If you have a G5 you don't have an Intel machine.

You initially said you have a G5...twice in fact. Then you say you have a MacPro. Which is it? and are you sure?

[Jean Wells] "I do have an Intel Mac Pro, but the software is saying G5."

Ok, the title of this thread says G5. You say G5 in your original post.

Click on the Apple logo on the upper left of your screen.

Click "About This Mac"

Tell us what the processor information says in the box that pops up.

It will be something like: Processor: 2.33Ghz Intel Duo....
