Cropping video / adjusting that crop.

Hi all,

So I'm sure what I want to do is really easy, I just don't know how to do it :)

I have some footage of a speaker on stage walking back and forth. The camera is tracking that speaker for the most part, but from time to time they walk out of the center of the frame.

I'd like to crop the video on the left and right, then resize it to create a picture in picture effect with the speakers powerpoint on screen at the same time that they are.

My only problem is when the speaker moves out of frame... I think I can probably keyframe the crop points and center point to have the video "recrop" but that seems a bit time consuming.

Thinking the easier way to do it is create a mask on a layer above and then move the video back and forth within that mask... just not sure on how to do that :)

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance as always!!
Blue

Then you need to key frame the "x" value in the Motion Tab> Basic Motion> Center
