Turn them to subclips. Then search. You can simply drag a marker in the browser window to any location and it turns into a subclip named the same as the marker was. The find command works then...

This is my first project on FCP - Migrated from Premiere CS4

Wow thats a major bummer...

I have 20 hours of HD footage.

Spread over many folders - and many many clips.

inside of them I Marked more than hundred markers.
Because I thought it will be very simple to search it up!

I dont want to go all over the markers and make them as subclips it will take hours - and will create clips that I don't want... just adds many Items in the projects...

I can't believe such a simple feature is missing! and the only markers that are searchable are markers which are shown and collapsed.. how stupid is that - I already see them - I want to search the ones that are hiding inside of folders and clips!!!

How can I find all the quetes and notes I made to miself!?

It's no that I don't sympathize, I do. I see this topic often.

FCP's failures in metadata handling have been known since v1 and they could have been researched easily and thoroughly before you committed to a platform that, as it turns out, coes not support your preconceived workflow.

You have two options:
1. Change your workflow to accommodate the limitations of your platform (FCP has many more benefits than drawbacks)
2. Obtain a third party application that helps handle your markers (CatDV and Cumulus are fully capable video catalogers with HUGE issues of their own)
3. Just keep complaining.

Thanks - about CatDV - does it integrate into the FCP interface - adding more ways to search my already added markers?

can you please allborate more about this tool?

I went to their Website - but didn't understand how its working.

Thanks anyway !

you made me laugh!

It's quite fast actually to drag a set of markers to a bin... you'd do this one time per clip with markers.

You can add markers any time to clips or subclips, then just create another subclip from that new marker... cmd+u is the keyboard command for it.
