Automating repetitive tasks
on Nov 17, 2009 at 3:30:02 pm

I am looking to automate a task in Final Cut Pro, such as adding 15 frames at the beginning and ending of a asset and adding intro in and intro out on an asset.

I've read where one guy has used automator to create a scrip, or macro to automate final cut pro actions sucessfully.

Can anyone give advice on how best to automate tasks in final cut pro?

Thanks a bunch Arnie,

This looks to be an awsome utility. Looks very much like the middleware I use.

Have you used Traffic? I'm definately checking this out and the price is great, too!

i use QuicKeys, and its pretty effective if you have a huge amount of repetitive tasks.
it's about $80-90 but there other apps that do essentially the same thing for less $$

it does take a certain amount of time to program the macros,
so it;s only really effective if you need to do the same thing a lot of times.
although what you need sounds pretty simple to program.

an important trick when programming macros is the PAUSES you leave between certain commands.
