Setting up Project for Online
on Nov 13, 2009 at 12:31:45 am

Hello,

I have a project that is already edited, that I am redoing in Final Cut Pro so that it will be easier to do an online.

The project originated on 16mm, and was converted to HDCAM and DVCAM. It features various effects (blurs, dissolves) and tracks layered on top of one another.

I am curious if I need to do anything special when setting up the offline DVCAM project and digitizing the DVCAM footage in anticipation of onlining the HDCAM footage later.

Also, does anything special need to be done to ensure that the effects remain in the project (or is that automatic, since all that is happening is new media is being connected to the project files - and the effects exist in the project files).

I've looked for an answer to this question for a few days, but haven't found anything conclusive.

Any insights you have would be appreciated; thanks!

Contact who is doing the online and ask them. Everyone does things different. What I do might differ from what Walter does.
