Best Chroma Key Plugin

Hi All,

I've got a PRORES 422 clip and JPEG background to key behind on a PRORES timeline 108050i FCP 6.0.6

The Lighting on the B/G is good and the ratio of face to green is great.

Use the keyer in FCP or use the worlds greatest keying plugin called ????

Take it out to Motion ??

Suggestions please : )

Best

Tim

I used to swear by Keylight...but I've been using Motion more and more and kinda like it. I almost feel like I have more control in motion than I do in Keylight. There is also primate keyer pro which i know people have used.

Personally, I prefer Shake. But Shake is getting hard to find since it was discontinued a few weeks ago, and it's not intuitive to a FCP/Motion user. Once you learn it, it's very powerful and easily allows you to do things that are very difficult or nearly impossible in FCP, Motion or AE.

We use "Ultimatte Advantedge".
It's expensive but if you do keys all day long, it's worth it.

I can't say enough great things about keylight.

It just never fails me and staying within final cut
without going external for some projects to another app is helpful imo.

Thanks All,

Since its a good quality shoot outcome I'm going to hit the books and run it through the FCP keyer following their seven steps suggested in the manual.

The plug ins seem to be offering better control and craft options but I better get basic keying right first.

Best and Thanks

Tim
