Final Cut Pro and Vixia HF11

I have Final Cut Pro 6 and a Canon Vixia HF11 camera but I cannot get high quality images on the
DVD's I produce. The image is grainy. I am importing the images from the camera via iMovie and then importing them into FCP. After editing I'm exporting to Quicktime and then using iDVD.

Can someone tell me what I need to do to maintain image quality?

Thanks,

Bill

[William Dingus] "I'm exporting to Quicktime and then using iDVD."

so your encoding them for dvd with idvd?

thats probably part or whole of the problem.

try sending the timeline straight through to compressor and use a dvd preset.

see if that improves it.

Update to 6.0.6 and ingest into FCP using ProRes.

Make your MPEG-2 files using Compressor and burn your disc using DVD Studio Pro.

All the best,
