I'm considering the ATTO R380 or the RocketRAID 4322.

I realize that I probably won't go wrong with either one, but I'd be interested to know if anyone has experienced anything (good or bad) that would influence their purchase decision a second time 'round.

I've had many very reliable ATTO SCSI cards, so I'm leaning in that direction right now.

R380 is running in three of our machines right now. Experience has been solid.

One hiccup going on right now with one of our RAIDs but we're not sure if the card has simply gone bad (it's two or three years old now) or an issue with the RAID. Atto tech support has been really helpful and we're getting a new card tomorrow to test with.

[Eric Mueller] "I realize that I probably won't go wrong with either one,"

Bad assumption.

Someone posted in the last week or 2 about their bad experience with that Highpoint card. Search the COW for "rocketraid" and "Highpoint".

My own experience with an earlier HP card was bad enough that I'd never look at their products again.

Thanks for the responses. I searched for posts on the HP, but I definitely missed that one. I did see some of Walter's posts about the R380 from a couple years back - glad they've worked out so well.

I think I'll go with my gut and show some customer loyalty on this one.

Me too. Go ATTO.

We have the ATTO and it's been 100%. Great company, and as Walter said, their support is excellent.

BTW, I have an Areca 1120 card that I'm very happy with. For a Mac Pro, you'd look at their 1600 series cards.

We like the ATTO range too. Our 380 has run without a hitch.
