Export Keycodes
on Sep 11, 2009 at 9:23:47 am

Hi All,

I am quite new to FCP. I have some footage that I shot on 16mm and had transfered to dvcam with burnt in keycode. All I have done is capture the footage in FCP and edited as normal.

Is there any way I can export the Keycode numbers so I can do a telecine batch transfer? I have tried to look online to find a solution to this but haven't come across a simple explanation yet.

For EASY you should have been provided with an ALE or FLEX file from the telecine, then have imported that into Cinema Tools, then exported a batch list to FCP to capture. Cinema Tools is the app that keeps track of this stuff.

The EXACT workflow for this? I don't know. Last time I had to deal with film and keycode information I was on an Avid...

If you don't have a FLEX file, and didn't take anything into Cinema Tools...then you have to write this all down manually.
