Jaksta or better for downloading YouTube and other videos?

I've used it in demo mode, and it seems okay, but appears to degrade the picture a little. What do you guys recommend?

Big fan of DamnVid - open source google project, I use it as "no conversion" and then use professional encoding tools to convert as needed.
