default location save

I hope I can make this clear. I am a professional video editor and have many pro apps on my Mac. Here is the question. I know when you set up an app there is a default save location, my question is simalar but diffirent.

Here goes, many times I have to export files to different folders on the fly. It seemed, in the past (on other machines), if I hit export and exported to a new folder, on the second or third time I went to do this back to back, the computer would remember and default to that folder. I would not make me navigate to that folder every time. I still want my save program files to always go to the same folder. However, I may be exporting data to many different folders during the day. It would be great if I did not have to navigate each and every time. Is there a way to set this up???

Shareware utility Default Folder X

might be useful.
