Snow Leopard Running Very Slow
on Oct 19, 2010 at 7:18:13 pm

Hello,

Recently installed Snow Leopard and everything has been running slow from web pages loading to editing and rendering in FCP.

I had no speed issues with Tiger.

I have verified disk permissions and repaired, and everything is still running slow.

Plenty of space left on hard drive.

Please help.

Ok so ome other questions, is your desktop cluttered? Have you done all of the latest software updates other than that? Do you use time machine? Do you have it linked to an external western digital hard drive? (if so ill tell you why i asked that later). Are you running the 64bit or 32bit kernel? What versions of all software are you using?

Thanks Tom for responding.

No clutter on desktop. Relatively clean. All software updated. Do not use Time Machine. Not sure what you mean by 32 or 64 bit kernel. FCP is 6.0.6 and CS5 is up to date.

Thanks

Eric

Ah that could explain it- how is the ram set up? Eg two 1 gig chips and a 512mb chip?
