Mark II footage jumps in quicktime
on Jul 24, 2009 at 3:25:56 am

Hello,

i've recently got some quicktime files from a Canon Mark II.
When i play it directly in quicktime, the footage is always jumping and freezing with a refresh interval of 2 seg.

I'm running a:
Mac DualG5 2.1 Ghz with Leopard
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL 256MB
2.5 Ghz of Ram
Quicktime 7 pro

Does anyone identifies this problem?

Thanks,
Ricardo Tabosa

From the looks of your set-up it could be a processor speed issue. H.264 is a processor heavy codec. Have you been able to get any files from the 5D to play smoothly?

Could also be a drive speed issue, but I am thinking it has more to do with the processors in your machine.

thank you for the reply.

Until now i couldn´t play any file from Mark II.

perhaps is the processor like you said. That's not very good news.
I´ve to downconvert the files.

Thanks,
Ricardo
