So i have the Decklink Extreme HD 2 on a Mac Pro G5 Quad.
I'm trying to use the HDMI output to pass video on my 2nd monitor. I'm using a DVI-to-HDMI cable but the only reaction i get from the monitor is a blinking light, then out (looping behaviour).

What can this be? Anyone? Helps :D

[António Carvalho] "Mac Pro G5 Quad"

Which is it a Mac Pro or a G5 Quad? (those are two completely different machines)

Are your drivers up to date for the card?

Connecting a monitor via the Decklink Card it is NOT going to act like a computer monitor, it is going to act like a video display (keep in mind it will not be a color accurate display for that you will need a broadcast monitor). Because of that you will need to set your video play back in FCP to play out via the Decklink Card.

There are no "technical solutions" to your "artistic problems".

i assume that you're using an Apple display.

it has different blinking patterns for different problems. but i'm guessing that its blinking the pattern for "video out of spec". the Apple display cannot display video out from an HDMI connection because its a different format than a computer DVI output (its both a different resolution and a different refresh rate). one way to do this is with a HDLink converter box, which converts HD-SDI to DVI and is designed for the Apple 23" DVI monitor specifically.

if you want to monitor with the HDMI output of the BMD card, you need to use a monitor with an HDMI in such as the Dell 2408
