Can G5 have two bootable drives?

My current system: dual G5 2 ghz running 10.3.7, QT 6._ with FCP 4.5

I am planning to upgrade to Tiger, FCP 5, QT 7. With such a major upgrade, I'd like to be able to keep my current system drive untouched by installing all the above on a second internal SATA drive. Is this possible?

If so, once I have these two bootable drives, how do I tell the mac which drive to boot to?

Thank you!

Bobo

Yes. Easy as ... sorta actually doing it.

When you have installed your new system on your second drive, you use startupdisc in systemprefferences to choose which to boot from.

... or you can hold down option just after you start up your mac to choose from all awailable disks.
