Ephemerally Occluded Parts - How to Mask Them?
on Mar 27, 2017 at 12:54:23 pm

As the per title - I have an arm sorta wiping across the upper part of the body and face - see animation

http://www.broadcastgems.com/mediaserver01/Reflex_Q_March27_Ephemerally_Occ...

1) Should I move away entire masks (or a subset of its vertices) away from the animating arm?

I asked earlier about a Render Hierarchy within Reflex but was told that it doesn't exist - me thinks something similar to a Hold Out Track Layer (ala mocha) or a Hold Out Matte thingy will be good. BUTT for now, is there a definitve, best way in dealing with such an issue?

And sorry for a silly Q BUTT where is my installed Documentation - can't seem to find it - sorry been awake for too long.

Cheers!

1) For the manual:

2) The arm in your example might work better as a separate layer

Ah! Noted!!! Pierre, I've only vaguely looked/read the doc on working with a separate layer - will look into it as soon as I can. From my vague memory, I'll have to roto out the hand in both shots - correct?

I'm still thinking a top-down (mask Timeline hierarchy) hierarchy might be a better/elegant solution.

Thanks for the link Pierre. I've also managed to create the morph without separating to layers. Simply masking the various facial features and outline did the trick.

Cheers
