Trapcode Form displacement

Is it possible to achieve something similar to this image with Trapcode Form or any other Trapcode plugin? The problem I ran into is that it's not possible to displace a whole surface (X and Y combined), only individual particles. I've just started using Trapcode, so please explain in easy-to-follow steps.

Thanks in advance!

I prefer Mir for cases that need to remain a complete object. Form is made of particles, so falls into pieces when you displace it like that, whereas Mir is a 3D surface that you can offset the vertices of.

See the getting started tutorial for Mir:

If you want displacement only on one axis like in your example, set the two other axis fractal amplitude to 0%.

Thanks for the quick reply, Kalle! Could you please be a bit more specific about this particular image? I've done the Mir getting started tutorial, but can't seem to achieve a similar result.

It would take me significantly longer to explain it that to do it, so here's something similar with the project file. You can study the settings to see what's going on here.
