[PARTICULAR] How to place particle based on sound
on Mar 10, 2015 at 9:09:02 pm

Greetings everyone,

I have been a lurker on creativeCow for years now, and finally decided to be part of this creative community.
Sadly though I open my first topic here with a call for help, I'm working on turning an old web experiment into a case study for my portfolio and want to recreate an audio visualizer I had coded and improve its effect too now that I can make it any way I want.

The visualizer can be seen in this clip (https://vimeo.com/64141478/)

What I'm trying to do and believe Trapcode's Particular (maybe with Sound Keys) (I have both) can do this.
I'm trying to have it place a particle that is a sprite (I have three different animated sound waves as single compositions)
based on wether the sound is a low—mid—high tone.

Sound keys can turn that kind of data into keyframe, i don't know if this is the easiest way to get the data I need Particular to use to place the constant stream of soundwaves. I would like to know how exactly I can set up the emitters to only place one single particle (one of the comps) based on a trigger like the keyframes from Sound Keys.

I hope someone can help me out here!
Thank you in advance.
