I am in need of creating some wood chips for a bullet impact on wood, but I am having some difficulty tackling the settings on trapcode particular. How should I go at creating wood chip-like particles that fly out of a single point and then fall to the ground?
I would set up a scene where I used a 3d layer as a wall and another 3d layer as the floor. Use one main particle to hit the wall and spawn aux particles in the shapes of wood chips. You can make a separate comp with different shapes to give it some variety. I would also use a bunch of motion blur so that you can hide the flat nature of the splinters.
