C4D OBJ Error
on Jun 22, 2013 at 11:55:00 pm

I am trying to export a simple C4D object to use in Form.

Running: C4D 14.042
AE CS6 (up to date)
Form 2.04

MAC OS 10.8.3

When I import one of the Trapcode supplied obj's they work perfectly.

I am exporting a very simple geometry from C4D as on .obj file. I've even tested a simple cube.

I can import into AE. Drop it in the time line and try to get FORM to read it... I get an error every time.

After Effects error:Form Obj error:can't open data file"/..../cube.obj" (1) (25::241)

Every tutorial I've seen on line shows this to be a simple process. Any thoughts?

Thanks

TAK

Just spent hours trying to get my head around this problem! It turns out the issue for me was i had a "/" in the folder name... The slash was just in a folder that the project was housed in.. that was the problem.. when i moved the obj to a different directory all was fixed!!!! Hoe it works for you mate. It was like fin dining a needle in a haystack.

Sheesh... I guess that's what happens when you break OS protocol.

That was definitely the problem on my end as well. Thanks so much. It would have stymied me until I began a new project without a /.
