Cycling through images?
on Aug 29, 2012 at 8:49:54 pm

I'm at a complete loss here. I've imported a folder of images that need to run in sequence. The layer is set to use Textured Poly.

I've tried almost every combination of settings I can think of, but I can't get the images to cycle in and out. I'm trying to get them to come in 1 or 1.5 at a time, with nice transitions into the next image, but nothing works. The sequence is either run through way too fast with no transitions, or it slowly fades in while the pictures cycle.

I assume you have loaded your images into a comp which is nested in the comp with your particle layer. In the precomp for the image sequence, you can use the Animation > Keyframe Assistant to 'Sequence Layers' with a transition.

Now, in the particle settings, you should be able to set the Particle > Texture > Time Sampling to 'Random Loop' to get each particle to display your image sequence, starting from a random point. If you want the sequences synced, you could use 'Start at Birth - loop'.

Does that help?
