Masking Particular particles in 3d Space
on Feb 18, 2012 at 2:45:10 am

I am working on a project which requires particles rotating around an object (like rings around Saturn). I have an instance of particular parented to a light which is then parented to a 3D null being driven by a video copilot script (3D Orbit), and is working fine orbiting the y axis. I have unsuccessfully placed a shape layer in the center of the orbiting light, and have the particles emitted behind the shape be masked. Followed by more unsuccessful attempts with Particular as a 3D layer and turning on and off the emitter.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Obscuration Layer under Visibility in Particular- Pre-Comp shape and put it below the Particular Layer.
