How to offset the velocity of textured particle in grid emitter?

I have created a Grid Emitter which is 20 x 15, Any idea that i can animate the particle or offset the velocity of the particle from the beginning which like running out of the camera then and keep the ending frame back to a 20 x 15 arrangement? Just like the following effect

sure, just start with your grid and then shoot the particles at the camera. If you want them to start fast then slow down, use a high initial directional velocity and dial up the air resistance. If you want them to slow down as they approach the grid, simply use 0 velocity and then use the wind to make them blow. Then, simply precomp and time reverse the comp.
