How to overlay a trapcode rainbow layer in another composition
on May 5, 2010 at 9:26:23 pm

I have a rainbow created in particular and I would like to overlay it on a sky layer in another composition.
Ive dragged the rainbow comp into my other comp which is made up of 3d layers.
When i do this the entire black background comes along too ,Ive tried playing with transfer modes and turning off the black background but it doesnt work.
how can i have it so that i just see the animated rainbow with a transparent background?

why not just copy the particular layer from one comp to the other by selecting it and hitting control c or command c on a mac, then pasting it into the other comp by hitting control v. Then, you should not have any issues and the particles will be 3d in your 3d scene. Otherwise, the imported comp would be 2d.

When I do that nothing happens. The particles layer is inside a comp which which has 4 light Emitters that are parented to null layers so they are all required for particular to work...

In that case, just copy and paste all necessary layers into the new comp unless it screws up a lighting situation.
