undulating particles II
on Feb 2, 2010 at 5:47:28 am

I've gotten my particles to behave somewhat. They stay on screen and undulate which is good - but they 'pop' every once in a while (go off and on for a frame or two). I'd like to get rid of the popping (I have my seamless looping comp layer set for 'random loop).

Also, I'd like them to mainly focus on one area, but trail off a bit to the left. I've tried Wind settings, but it moves ALL the particles - how do I get them to trail off to one side a bit?

thank you,

As for the looping of particles to stop the "popping" check out Aharon's tutorial on RGTV found here:
http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/videos/redgianttv/item/3/

As for trying to make the particles vary speed in different sections of the screen, you will have to make a grayscale layer source with white where you want higher velocity and black where you want no velocity and shades of gray inbetween and set it up as a layer emitter. Make sure to have the layer control velocity. That is really the only way to have particles have specific different velocities in particular.

Best,

Mike
